OBECTIVES
- Develop a healthy, strong and expressive voice.
- Learn vocal repertoire that is vocally appropriate, challenging and enjoyable.
- Develop and improve musical skills, sight-singing, rhythm and intonation.
- Improve interpretation, language and diction skills.
- Nurture a love for singing that can last a lifetime.
EXPECTATIONS
- Preparation. All students are expected to practice techniques and repertoire studied in lessons on a daily basis. Practice is the only way to improve. Repetition is the key to success. I recommend 30 minutes per day. Practice should include physical as well as vocal exercises and learning music.
- Materials to bring to every lesson include:
- 3-Ring Binder with assigned materials
- Pencil
- Voice recorder
- Water bottle
- Positive attitude. You are taking voice lessons because you want to. Lessons should not feel like a chore but rather as an opportunity to practice doing something you enjoy and love to do along with a strong desire to improve.
- Professionalism. Mutual respect is a must. Tardiness and unexcused absence are unacceptable.
